Year-End Giving guidelines

The School office will be staffed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday - Wednesday, December 21 - 23 as well as Tuesday and Wednesday, December 29 and 30. Therefore, if you wish to make your gift in the 2009 tax year, please note the following:

CHECKS
To qualify for a 2009 deduction, checks must be postmarked on or before December 31. If you plan to hand deliver your gift to the School office, you will need to do so by 3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30.  Because staffing is minimal over the break, we encourage you to call the front office before you come to school so that we can be certain someone is able to receive you.

CREDIT CARD
Gifts made by American Express, Visa, MasterCard, or Discover credit card will be counted in the 2009 tax year if you:
     • Make a gift using our secure online form by 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 31,
     • Mail the credit card information for your gift to St. Luke's no later than Saturday,
        December 26, or
     • Call in your gift to 212-924-5960 by Tuesday, December 29.

STOCK
The gift date is recorded as the date on which the stock is transferred into the School's gift account, not the date on which you advise your broker to make the gift. Please request the transfer and notify the School by Tuesday, December 29. It often takes a few days to verify transfers, particularly during the holidays, and we want to make sure your transfer is completed before we close on Wednesday, December 30.
