EXTRACURRICULAR Opportunities

LOWER SCHOOL
Beginning in Grade 3, Lower School students may participate in Chapel as an acolyte or as a member of the St. Luke's Choristers.

UPPER SCHOOL
Beginning in Grade 5, students have an expanded array of extracurricular activities, including:

Acolytes
Choristers
Literary Magazine: Libellus
Amnesty International: Grades 7 and 8 students may join the St. Luke's Chapter.
Student Council:  Participation as a Class Representative rotates among class members.  Students meet each week with the Upper School Head to discuss issues; they are responsible for running weekly Convocation.

AFTER SCHOOL
The day does not stop at dismissal.  Many families need additional childcare until 6 p.m.  An enriching After School Program serves children of all ages daily until 6:00 p.m.

Upper School students may also take advantage of time to study in the Grace Sawyer Library; meet with a teacher; work on a project; or play on an athletic team.

EVENING AND WEEKEND EVENTS
Upper School students periodically return to school on a Friday evening for Canteen, a social evening of a light dinner and play in the gym supervised by faculty members. St. Luke's joins with other downtown schools to offer a Friday night dance for Grade 6, Grade 7, and Grade 8 each year.  On-site and off-site community service activities are offered. The Parents Association sponsors popular events such as the Halloween Dance, the Family Dance, and the Christmas Fair.
