At St. Luke’s, we believe that education is a journey of becoming, best fostered from a place of belonging.

From the start of their journey, children feel safe to explore and take academic risks—aware of their agency as learners and the breadth of resources available to them. Our program embraces academic rigor through the understanding that learning happens as a responsive process, not solely in the final product. At every stage, St. Luke’s students learn to navigate areas of growth and use those experiences to inform their next step.

Through our interdisciplinary programs, varied disciplines are woven together to inform and enrich both one another and our students in turn. Simultaneously distinct and interconnected, each learning experience equips students to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, and compassionate community members. At St. Luke’s School, each student’s voice and interests are valued and used to inform their unique educational journey. Students are not molded into a singular vision, but rather are empowered to explore their strengths and uncover new possibilities.

The K-8 model is designed to instill students with flexibility, empathy, and curiosity in their education from the earliest moment. This structure creates a safe environment in which children can develop an authentic character and a true sense of leadership.

Children are truly known at St. Luke’s—not only as students, but as young people growing into themselves. They are met where they are at and helped to build strong foundations as lifelong learners and thoughtful, good citizens. Students graduate from St. Luke’s with the tools to learn joyfully and lead from the heart.

Learning is about the journey, rather than the destination. At St. Luke’s that journey flourishes in a place where students learn to care for each other, themselves, and the greater world.

From Our Students

Ben J. ’15

St. Luke’s taught me to engage with school in a more personal way: to be myself as a learner, not just be a learner.

Each of my teachers showed me a part of myself that I couldn’t always see. As I progressed through St. Luke’s, I was supported by teachers who understood who I was and who I would become.

St. Luke’s prepared me for leadership roles by teaching me the importance of compassion.

Program Spotlight:

The Partners Program

Beginning in Junior Kindergarten, students are paired with an older student to be partners. Then in Grade 3, they take on their role as the big partner to a younger student. Students forge friendships across grade levels, allowing them to learn from one another. Teachers plan together with the goal of helping all students develop a strong sense of self and strengthen their voice. They may read to one another, play games, engage in restorative circles, practice mindfulness, or purposefully explore our campus grounds listening to each other’s hopes and dreams. The Partners Program provides students with a wider perspective of the St. Luke’s School community, affording them a space to remember their younger years, or look ahead to what the future might hold.
