Sibling & Legacy Admissions

St. Luke’s School derives strength from its community of sibling and alumni families and from our professional staff. We also welcome families who are members of the Church of St. Luke in the Fields to apply for admission to our school.

All applicants are evaluated according to the same individual criteria, combined with an effort to achieve class balance and diversity. However, Early Notification applicants will be given preference at the Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten level where possible. To qualify, applicants must be one of the following:

  • Siblings
  • Children of alumni
  • Children of professional staff
  • Children of parishioners who have been actively involved at the Church of St. Luke in the Fields for at least two years.

The Early Notification application deadline is October 1, 2023.  The families of Early Notification applicants learn if their child has been admitted to St. Luke’s in advance of the regular applicant pool.

Please complete an application for Early Notification through Ravenna.

Families who do not complete the Early Notification application process, who do not confirm their Early Notification status on the application, or who decline an early offer of admission will not receive Early Notification preference for their children. These children are assessed within the general applicant pool and receive notification of admission in February according to the standard dates established by the Independent Schools Admissions Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY).

In cases where the Admissions Committee determines that St. Luke’s would not be an appropriate school setting at this point in time for a candidate, which is an extremely difficult determination for all involved, please know that the child's best interests are taken into consideration when the decision is made. Every effort will be made to discuss a suitable alternative with the family.
