Other Funds and Special Initiatives at St. Luke's.

Each year, we ask our entire community to support the Annual Fund and Spring Benefit as these are the School’s top priorities. However, as a member of the St. Luke’s School community, you may be asked to support other special programs and initiatives like those below.

Grounds for our Future

The Grounds for Our Future campaign was launched in 2018 with a vision to maximize the outdoor spaces on the St. Luke's School grounds. Our child-centered playground opened to rave reviews in September 2019, and our renovated courtyard and amphitheater made in-person learning, socialization, and small classroom gatherings possible in September 2020. These initiatives have continued to enhance the life of the school ever since.

In the Fall of 2022, our rooftop field was completed. In this unique space, children can learn and play on the roof of our school while enjoying stunning views of New York City. Catherine Corry and Rebecca Morse, Grounds for Our Future Co-Chairs, worked with architects to develop the field of our students’ dreams, knowing that outdoor space is precious.

Faculty and Staff Year End Fund

At the end of the year, the Parents Association organizes a drive to raise funds as a gift to our Professional Staff. All parents are invited and encouraged to make a donation in lieu of individual gifts to faculty and staff. This way, we can ensure that all members of our Professional Staff receive a gift.

Building our Future

As a result of Building Our Future, we expanded our building by two stories in 2017, adding nine classrooms and the largest middle school gym in New York City. This campaign also allowed St. Luke’s to double our enrollment, growing from one class in each grade to two classes.

Grade 8 Class Gift

To commemorate the graduating class, we often organize a special gift and project so that the families and students can leave a lasting legacy at St. Luke’s. The gift reflects the needs and wants of our wonderful teachers and we ask that families maintain their Annual Fund support from the previous year and also consider a gift in addition to reach the class gift goal and complete the project.

Previous class gifts have included a new scoreboard system for our gym, creating breakout rooms, funding for the Green Ox, and purchasing new science and STEM equipment.

Make Possible Campaign

The Make Possible campaign began in the Fall of 2022 and will conclude Fall 2024. The endowed funds raised honored the leadership and legacy of St. Luke's 5th Head of School, Bart Baldwin, while empowering our 6th Head of School, Tracy Fedonchik, in her first years at St. Luke's. The campaign provided for key initiatives including creating more meaningful opportunities for family engagement and community building, supporting teachers, and advancing STEM initiatives.
